The Authority (Cumberland County Improvement Authority) continues to expand its impact across our region with new projects and services. President and CEO Jerry Velazquez will be our keynote speaker for this important November 12 event at the New Jersey Motorsports Park.

NOVEMBER'S OUTSTANDING CITIZEN

The GMCC is pleased to announce that November's
Outstanding Citizen will be Denise Arrigo, a beloved
individual across Cumberland County and former
educator who epitomizes volunteerism and
commitment to community.

Denise's community service across Cumberland County 
is well documented and includes the following:

• Member, Board of Education, Deerfield Township School, 1998-2000
• City of Millville Planning Board 2017-2022
• Board secretary, Another Haiti, teaching English as a Second Language 
to children in Leogane,Haiti 2016-2023
• Board member, Habitat for Humanity 2008-2011
• Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) representing children in foster care 2007-2012
• Adult Literacy tutor, Literacy Volunteers of America, 2017-2024
• Volunteer Spanish interpreter for VECINA, a national organization to reunite unaccompanied
children stranded at the border, 2022-present
• Board member, and vice president, M25 Initiative 2018-2024
• Cumberland County Code Blue coordinator 2019
• Millville Code Blue coordinator 2020
• Currently Millville Code Blue volunteer, and coordinator of the 
Trinity First Hope Chest clothing
closet which is part of the Trinity first Hope Center.
